Organizational strategy for the financial year YYYY
* Ensure that our bank complies with the Major regulations on the street.
Spawns into Regulatory Compliance Portfolio for Investment bank, Private bank and Asset Management.
Within Investment bank the portfolio 'Regulatory Compliance' is sliced into multiple programs viz.
Project to determine the key regulations, Basel III Program and Dodd Frank Program.
Within Investment bank within 'Dodd Frank Program', create Projects within each department or consisting of multiple departments which needs to update their applications to make it Dodd Frank compliant. E.g. Client Trade & Position reporting app will need to be changed to comply for Dodd Frank compliance.
Portfolio -> Supporting the organizational strategy. [Regulatory compliance portfolio] The bank should comply with XYZ regulations. So it selects & priotitizes the regulatory programs say based on dead lines for the regulation or say skill set avaialble etc.
Thus carves our programs, projects, prioritizes work, provide the needed resources (money, human) etc.
Program -> Provides benefits.
E.g. say portfolio carved out say Dodd Frank or Volcker program. This program will manage a bunch of projects in such a way that the organization gets the benefit of complying with the regulation and not being penalized.
So say Volcker program may projects in creating appropriate alerts, Storage and distribution of alerts from say a datawarehouse, and sending out alerts to the right Volcker Trading Desks to get comments on alerts generated, and finally reporting. Each of these could be a project.
Projects -> Provides/produces products, services or results.

Real life view / Strategic Road map / etc.
